STUDY ON GROWTH OF NAIL WITH REFERENCE TO AYURVEDIC CONCEPT OF SHARIR KSHAYA

ABSTRACT
Sharira or body is one which deteriorates or changes from time to time. The depreciation process of the body starts from zygote, upto the end of life. Every second by second there is a revolution in the body. We can say that there may be maximum growth in early stage of life aganist the later stage of life. But according to ayurveda sutra, growth of nakha and kesha continue by nature inspite of the wasting of body. As per modern review also nail growth is continuous throughout the life and only ceases at death. But the rate of nail growth at different stages of life is not mentioned anywhere or no study has been done previously in Ayurveda. By considering this the decision has taken to work on this concept of growth of nail in different stages of life to understand the meaning in present era. In the present article we are discussing about the work done basis on the same.
