Abstract

AYURVEDIC APPROACH TO MEDODUSTI W.S.R. TO DYSLIPIDEMIA WITH MUSTADI KWATH: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT

Rapid impact of westernisation, industrialization and stressful lifestyle in the present era, has led to a considerable increase in the incidence of lifestyle and behavioural diseases. Now a days majority of the population is following inappropriate junk food, excess fatty dietic and sedentary life style, which may lead to a state of Dyslipidemia that may predispose to many disorders and disabilities.[1] Dyslipidemia is responsible for many life threatening conditions like Coronary artery disease (CAD), Ischemic heart disease, Hypertension and Stroke.[2] In this study an effort was made to treat a 48year old male patient having symptoms of Angamard, Angagaurav and Aruchi and abnormal lipid profile with Mustadi Kwatha[3] described by Charak Sutra Sthan in Santarpajanyayadhi. At the end of 90 days of treatment by Mustadi Kwatha, patient got significant improvement in symptoms and lipid profile as well.
