ABSTRACT
Book IV in Le Soleil d’Allah Brille sur l’Occident by Sigrid Hunke (1997) published by Albin Michel, the author narrates the value of science in those days, specifically pharmacy and medicine during the Umayyad, Abbasid and Seljuk periods. In the 10th century, medicine and pharmacy were not two separate professions, as was the case during the Greek period. Every doctor was his own pharmacist and prescribed remedies to his patient (p.193).
