ABSTRACT
Where vector borne diseases spread most, health of human societies have prospered least. The global distribution of per-capita gross domestic product shows a striking correlation between vector borne diseases and social status. The areas of tribal agencies have lower rates of economic growth. There are multiple channels by which vector borne diseases impedes development, including effects on fertility, premature mortality, population growth, worker productivity, absenteeism, medical costs, savings and investments. Since large part of Telangana tribes live in hilly, forest areas and inaccessible with poor communication facilities, control of vector borne diseases is logistically difficult and outbreaks are frequently recorded. The present article attempts to provide a profile of vector borne diseases in the region, briefly covering various elements of disease transmissions in order to assess the magnitude of problems faced by tribal people with vector borne diseases in Khammam District, Telangana state.
