MANAGEMENT OF CORNEAL DISORDERS IN THE CONTEST OF YOGARATNAKARA

ABSTRACT
Yogaratnakara is a famous Ayurvedic book belongs to medieval period (17th A.D.). The author has compiled the modules which is useful in general practice. This book contains Purvakanda and Uttara kanda. Yogaratnakara starts with qualities and duties of doctors, and ends with rasayana (methods of longevity). In Purvardha of Purva kanda he describes in detail about basic concepts of Ayurveda, identification, purification of herbs, minerals and methods. Yogaratnakara mentioned diseases of jatrurdwagata roga in Uttararda of Purvakanda. Order of diseases and management, he followed as mukha roga, karna roga, nasaroga, shiro roga and netra roga. He also classified netra rogas as sandhigata roga, varthmagata roga, suklagata roga, krishnagata roga, dristigata roga and sarvagata roga. Krishnagata roga are 4 in number. It consists Savrana sukra, Avrana sukra, Ajaka, Akshi pakatyaya.
