ABSTRACT

The main aim and objective of the present research work was to extract the potential biomolecules present in the fruits of Phyllanthus acidus L and to evaluate the anxiolytic activity of various extracts (ENL, MNL and CLF) of fruits of Phyllanthus acidus L. The Anxiolytic activity of the test extracts were evaluated by using the EPM and LDM model in mice. The experimental data of experimental Elevated Plus Maze (EPM) and Light-Dark Model (LDM) in mice displayed that the ethanolic extract (ENL) and the chloroform extract (CLF) of fruits of Phyllanthus acidus exhibited the highest anxiolytic activity among the three extracts (ENL, MNL and CLF). The test extract MNL did not exhibit anxiolytic activity.
