ABSTRACT
Tarsometatarsal dislocations (LISFRANC dislocations) are defined as a permanent displacement of the metatarsals in relation to the tarsus. LISFRANC dislocations were first described by MONTEGIO and DUPUYTEN in two cases, followed by a more detailed description by MALGAINE in 1885.
