ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a group of physiological dysfunction characterized by hyper-glycaemia Now a days, diabetes mellitus has emerged as asignificant global public health concern with a remarkable increase in its prevalence. Type 2 diabetes accounts for around 90% of cases, while type 1 diabetes accounts for most of the remainder. All forms of diabetes are ultimately a consequence of relative insulin deficiency. The purpose of this article is to review the basic science of type 2 diabetes and its complication.
